i just thought it worth a try so i dialed in my various audio filters, restarted zoom (seems to be a requirement when playing media files!?), pressed play and they connected up!!! In doing so I checked the segments it had made, they played fine. i dialed in a small segment size ready to put online for you guys to look at. no real editing potentially but thankfully it has the option of splitting a file into segments. I discovered that using mkvtoolnix ( ) was the only choice for actually doing anything with matroska files, virtualdub is too out of date. I would love to be able to get the same quality of playback out of these files as i can with DVDs.
#Intervideo ac3 codec install#
On the same machine, the same zoomplayer install in dvd player mode I can get Nvidia NVDVD audio filter working fine with my dvds.

but adding all of these to the black list leaves me with no sound at all as presumably it runs out of filters. I get Nero Digital Audio Decoder - which reports the stream as AC3_STREAM, type=ES Stream, 48000, 16, 6. not sure where they're being picked from. I went in and added this to the blacklist to not use it, and slowly i went through other decoder filters. it always resorts to ffdshow audio decoder. I've tried setting the AC3 audio codec in smart play and this seems to have no effect. the only thing left is i'd like to use the dolby headphone capabilties of the Nvidia NVDVD audio filter to decode the AC3. The latest Zoomplayer plays them the best of any program that i have at the moment. I have a matroska file that has h264 video, and AC3 6 channel sound.
